Lets enjoy a laidback late spring stroll through Newport’s Aquidneck Park to the beauty (and shade) of majestic trees.
NTC Living Collections Manager will lead the group for a loop around the park, remarking on a number of interesting species that reside in the park, including stewartia, sassafras, Kentucky coffeetree and Japanese scholar tree. Aquidneck Park is home to 31 beech tree individuals, representing 10 unique taxa. Joe will discuss these interesting varieties, and give updates on beech disease issues, and public beech tree care in Newport. Please dress appropriately for summer walk. Water is recommended.
Parking: Street parking, as well as parking at Bellevue Gardens free for 2 hours with valedation
