Walk alongside us as we explore Harbor House Arboretum.
Harbor House is a beautiful bayside apartment complex with an eclectic mix of trees, shrubs and perennial beds, as well as a working garden space for residents with strong green thumbs. The grounds hold a number of beautiful specimen trees, notably an impressive common horserchestnut tree, a towering London Planetree, Japanese stewartias, and the summer flowering Japanese Scholar Tree. For this public day event, NTC Living Collections Manager Joe Verstandig will lead a tour of the property, comment on several trees and shrubs of interest, and discuss the art of spring pruning in the garden. Joe will demostrate timely pruning techniques on plants such as roses, forsythia, butterfly bush, and hydrangea. Bring your spring garden questions!
