Walk alongside us as we explore Harbor House Arboretum.
This historic property, with beautiful views of Narragansett Bay and the Pell Bridge, currently serves as an affordable homestead for senior citizens. The grounds hold a number of beautiful speceimnen trees, notably an impressive common horserchestunut tree, a towering London Planetree, Japanese stewartias, and the summer flowering Japanese Scholar Tree. For this arboretum public day event, we will tour the grounds, discuss some early autumn interest in the garden, recount some local history, and finish with a planting tutorial covering the basics for installing a shrub in the fall, specifically a native deciduous azalea.
